The 10th Mining and Exploration Forum “MINEX Central Asia” has concluded in Bishkek. The event was held under the theme “Prospects and Scenarios for Sustainable Development of the Mining Industry in Central Asian Countries.” Over 100 companies and organizations from 22 countries in Central Asia, Europe, China, North America, and the Middle East participated in the forum.

Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov, speaking at the forum, emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic is a reliable economic partner capable of fulfilling all economic obligations. He welcomed participants on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Cabinet of Ministers.

Japarov highlighted that 95% of Kyrgyzstan’s territory is mountainous, with rich mineral deposits including gold, coal, iron, titanium, and rare earth metals. He invited partners to collaborate on geological exploration and investment in the mining sector.

Among the speakers was Ilyas Tulekeev, General Director of “KAZ Minerals Bozymchak.” He announced that the Bozymchak mine is undergoing construction and preparation for the launch of an underground mine. The project is the largest Kazakhstani investment project in the Kyrgyz Republic, with investments totaling around $450 million. The company employs over 1,300 people, 97% of whom are citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Tulekeev noted that the company has made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the republic, with around 15 billion soms transferred to the state budget. The construction and launch of the underground mine are valued at over $110 million, with around $60 million already invested.

Tulekeev also mentioned his previous participation in MINEX in the UK, which was attended by Prime Minister Japarov, and praised the support from the state for investment projects. He emphasized that the government not only listens to business representatives but also hears them, creating conditions for the realization of investment projects.
