Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akybek Japarov, met with representatives of several international companies during the 10th MINEX Central Asia Mining and Exploration Forum. The meetings were reported by the Cabinet’s press service.

Specifically, Japarov met with Darren Hughes from the British company Concrete Canvas Ltd. They discussed bilateral cooperation, including the potential establishment of a production facility in Bishkek and further investment cooperation.

Next, Japarov met with Dr. Tim Lucks, the Managing director of the British company SRK Consulting. SRK Consulting is an international consulting firm that provides specialized advice and solutions primarily for clients in the mining and water resources sectors.

The head of the Cabinet emphasized the government’s interest in a qualitative assessment of the country’s natural resources and their rational development using modern technologies, equipment, investments, and adherence to high environmental standards. The parties discussed further cooperation.

Japarov also met with Markku Teräsvasara, the Minerals president of the Finnish company Metso. Metso is a global leader in sustainable development technologies, comprehensive solutions, and services used in the production of non-metallic materials, mineral processing, and metallurgy.

The parties discussed further cooperation, with the company representatives expressing their readiness to work together.

Additionally, Japarov met with Andrey Navitsky, the managing director and partner of the international consulting firm Boston Consulting Group. Currently, they are jointly developing a strategy for the development of the mining industry and the exploitation of rare earth metals with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.

“We need a strategy that will move the mining industry forward,” stated the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Japarov also discussed the development prospects of Chaarat Gold Holdings Limited and future plans for the Chaarat gold deposit with the company’s management.
