BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan – Central Asian nations will cooperate peacefully on water resources, contrary to sensationalist media predictions, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov declared at the MINEX Central Asia mining and exploration forum.

Japarov emphasized that the recent signing of a document with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to build the Kambar-Ata-1 Hydroelectric Power Plant is an example of how countries in the region can come together to achieve common goals and tackle global challenges.

“We are ready for mutually beneficial cooperation. As Winston Churchill once said, ‘In capitalism, the wealth is unfairly distributed, and in socialism, poverty is unfairly distributed.’ In our history, there was a time when we ‘unfairly distributed poverty’ in one direction, and wealth in another. We want to fairly distribute wealth with our partners and develop mutually beneficial relations in the interests of our people,” Japarov stressed.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that every investor can use all the existing opportunities in Kyrgyzstan and that it’s time to “open a new page of relations focused on results and creation.”
