The ceremony of signing tripartite agreements on providing domestic raw materials to manufacturing enterprises in the copper industry was held at the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Agreements were signed between the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KAZ Minerals Management LLP, as well as manufacturing enterprises.
In his opening speech, Ilyas Ospanov, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that the Head of State in his message to the people of Kazakhstan raised the issue of fully loading domestic processing industries with raw materials.
“The purpose of this Agreement is to strengthen and develop long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Parties, support for entrepreneurial activities, development of the Kazakh processing industry based on the principles of equality, openness, integrity and mutual respect,” I. Ospanov said.
According to this Agreement, KAZ Minerals Management LLP will provide raw materials to manufacturing enterprises (Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC, Kazelectromash LLP and Non-Ferrous Metal Processing Plant JSC) in full. Thus, enterprises are given the opportunity to buy cathode copper at a competitive price.
In turn, manufacturing enterprises must ensure the production of high value-added products, increase the volume of production, and also process the entire volume of raw materials received.
This measure will increase the load of domestic manufacturing enterprises.
