It is planned to open a zinc plant in the Turkestan region, LS reports with reference to the regional akimat.

The Turkish company Jayland Holding is interested in the project implementation. It is expected that the zinc plant will start working on the territory of the free economic zone.

“A foreign company can invest $40 million in a new project,” the report says.

Earlier, LS wrote that they want to establish the production of zinc concentrate in the region together with an investor from Turkey. The cost is 1.77 billion tags. Presumably, they wanted to open production in 2023. In 2022, it was noted that work had begun to expand the list of priority activities in the Turkestan special economic zone.
