The Kyrgyz Republic has an estimated 5 billion tons of untapped ore and iron reserves, according to Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev. Speaking at the MINEX Central Asia mining and geological forum, Amangeldiev highlighted the potential for Kyrgyzstan to export 12-14 billion tons of primary production annually.

Amangeldiev also noted the potential for uranium mining at the Tash-Bulak deposit and the development of rare earth metals from the Kutesay-II and Kalesay deposits, which hold a combined balance of over 50 million tons.

Emphasizing the priority of the mining industry, Amangeldiev stated that Kyrgyzstan aims to actively develop these reserves to achieve an annual growth rate of at least 10%.
