Finding the balance: A look at the Evolution of British Manufacturing and services.
Prolog originates from a small town in England, Telford, that includes Ironbridge, widely recognised as the birthplace of the industrial revolution. In 1777 Abraham Darby III started construction on the first iron bridge to be built, by using local foundries for all the casts, this moved the surrounding foundries to be at the forefront of design and technological advancements in engineering and ironmongery at the time. Over the next 2 ½ centuries Britain has been considered at the pinnacle of engineering and manufacturing techniques. However in the last 70 years Britain has moved to being a global services superpower, leaving manufacturing in its wake. Now in the 2020s, are we seeing the start of a balance between the 2 sectors for Britain.
