In a recent announcement, the mining giant Tau-Ken Samruk revealed its plans to commence mining operations at the lead-zinc deposit in Shalkiya, located in the Kyzylorda region, starting in October 2024. According to the chairman of the company’s board, Bakyt Chirchikbayev, the production is slated to reach 2.2 million tons of ore next year.
